Historic Mesa Arizona Temple
Dedicated in 1927, the Mesa Arizona Temple was one of the first temples constructed outside of Utah by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The unique eggshell terra cotta tile exterior radiates an almost iridescent glow. The architecture is said to model ancient temples and is one of only three LDS temples of similar design. Intricately carved friezes depict the gathering of Israel.

While the grounds and gardens are open to all, as with all Church temples, entry is reserved to Church faithful who take part in sacred ordinances that link precious family relationships throughout eternity. It is not uncommon to see newly married couples posing for photographs on the grounds.

The Church presently has 136 temples operating, announced or under construction around the world, including the Ukraine and China. The Church maintains thousands of meetinghouses where Church members worship weekly.
